Change Unicode Gurmukhi Keyboard Layout to
Standard GurbaniLipi Format

If you are like most people who have started using the Unicode Gurmukhi, you are probably having a hard time getting used to the strange new keyboard layout. Well, now you don't have to. You can download an easy to use installer to change the format of the keyboard to the one we are all used to. Where = j and = k.. this is something most of us are used to.

Before continuing make sure you follow the simple instructions at http://www.mkhalsa.com/lit/indic.html to get the unicode Gurmukhi working on your computer.

Now, download and install this file:  Gurmukhi-StandardKeyboard.exe

After you have installed this file, just follow these easy steps:

Go back to the "Regional and Language Options" Control Panel. Click on the "Languages" tab. Click on the "Details..." button.

Under the "Installed Services" section, select "PA Punjabi." Then click "Remove."

Now click "Add..."

The "Add Input Language" dialog box will appear. Click on the "Input Language:" drop down list and select "Punjabi."

Under the "Keyboard layout/IME:" drop down list select "Gurmukhi (Mkhalsa - Standard GurbaniLipi Layout)."

Click "OK." Click "OK." Click "OK."

Done!

Now when you use the unicode gurmukhi, you can use the same keys you have always used for Gurmukhi fonts.
